Heat Loss Calculation / Boiler Sizing

I had a local HVAC company quote me a new hot air furnace. The price was $ 6,000.00 for a Lennox or Thermopride unit.

Not to seem arrogant or rude, but $ 4,000.00 for a dual-fuel boiler is a BARGAIN...!!!

If I had plans to keep this house, I would not hesitate to spend $ 4k for a Leisure Line hopper fed boiler or up to $ 8k for an auger fed EFM DF520 boiler.

Joe, are you asking about the gaskets in the stoker or the entire unit?

Rob,

I am only replacing the gaskets around the cleanout door (the one below the DHW plate), the fire viewing door (round door) and the ash pan door for now. BUT, I asked lengths because I want to have enough on hand to replace the stoker unit ones in the future. I don't plan on doing this anytime soon, as this unit has new plates and gaskets installed recently, but I figure if I have to buy by the foot I might as well get enough to do it all.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe, I haven't measured the various lengths to have exact dimensions. The cleanout door and ash door are easy enough to measure/estimate. Note that the ash door uses a 5/8" gasket. For the stoker I think 15" of 3/8" and 40" of 1/4" would be pretty close. Order some extra to have on hand.

I got a few "Rutland gasket kits" on ebay that worked very well for mine.
