Franco Belge Manual
Does anybody out their own an older gravity fed hopper style franco belge 10.242 or simular stove that has the manual and could e-mail me a copy of it. The building Inspector in my town requires the set up of stove goes by what the manual says.I think she does'nt know the codes.I'm trying to get it as close to wall as possible to save space in room

I could be off base here but I'd imagine that would be addressed in the building code and any regulation they have would override anything the manual says. If the manual has specifications that don't meet the building code you would have to go by the building the code.sunline20 wrote:The building Inspector in my town requires the set up of stove goes by what the manual says.
As far as getting one good luck, I'm pretty sure its slim chance.
That's what I'm finding out ,I guess these stoves a rare and the manuals are rarer. How close can you get to a wall with the stove? I have found Franco's for sale on E-Bay with pistures of manuals and it looked like you could be as close as 12in from wall.

I can't give you any advice as to what it should be but if I was going to put it 12 inches from the wall myself I would isnure that I had a good layer of non-combustible material.

Hey guys, I just picked up a F/B Normandy Model, I need to find the model #, but no manual either! A buddy of mine has the same stove, so I'm gonna check to see if he has one? There;s one out there somewhere! Jim

Hi to all:
I rummaged around and found an old manual for Franco Belge Models: 10.1662; 10.1475; 10.1362; 10.1375; and 10.1242. It has specs and clearances as well as operating and maintenence instructions. If anyone would like a copy I can either fax or mail. Let me know in a PM.

I just moved into a house with a 10-275 Franco belge. I need help on putting it to use. I am messing around with it in small doses and so far so good.
1. There is a coil type knob on the pipe connecting the stove to chimmney?????????????????? what is this?
2. All the iron plates inside, how do they lie when fire is used?
3. does the "plug" on top stay on?
4. anything I really need to check? it was cleaned out by a buddy in furnacing and thinks it looks fine but he is not expert
my email is [email protected] or ill check back here
thanks in advance

Put Franco Belge in search and you will find manuals and specs and much other info.
