Here's another copper chimney cap just about completed. Need to put stainless mesh at each end. Oliver

That must be some chimney. Stone or brick??

The chimney is cultured flagstone . Looks really nice. I'll take more pictures when the cap is installed. Meenwhile, here's a couple pictures before the stone.

Why wouldn't they put a masonry chimney on such a high end house ?
You could get two usable flues in that space. Hard to believe.

I'll bet the flagstone will look real nice, and that cap will top it all off perfectly. I love the natural wood trim look.

Is that a lot of water in the background?

The only appliance utilizing that chimney is a gas fireplace.

Dang, Oliver,

I knew from looking at your boiler install that you were a real stickler. That there is a jim dandy. I'm a tinner, but now I think that I'm just a hack. I've done some copper work in my day, but nothing that would rival that.

Just about nothing nicer than natural wood for looks, my closest year round neighbors have a beautiful log home but it's nothing but maintenance. Great job on the cap it'll set things off real nice.

The chimney cap is beautiful, an example of true craftsmanship.

Too bad it isn't going to sit on a big two flue brick chimney.

Oliver- Awesome work! What does it weigh? I must admit at first glance I though it was a 55 gallon drum cut in half and painted. Upon closer inspection- I was mistaken! You Sir are an artist. What kind of time does it take for completion start to finish? Hey- not for nothing but copper is worth alot- as you all know. We've had numerous businesses in the central NY area robbed of copper and even new construction torn up by thieves to get the copper out. That better be a long way off the roof or it might as well have a neon target sign flashing on it for thieves.

Not sure of weight, but heavy. It has a wood foundation, and 4 - 3x10 sheets of copper. Plus nails, rivits, and solder. Takes about 4 days from start to finish. Working with copper is very slow. Everything is custom (no patterns). Oliver
