Water pump tractor

Water pump tractor

PostBy: coalnewbie On: Tue Mar 06, 2012 11:52 am

I have a David Brown tractor (Case) 1977 model 995 water pump that has blown up. I have tried everything to replace it to no avail (and I mean everything). NAPA won't rebuild it so I need a water pump rebuilder that is reliable. Does anybody have any guidance for me. HELP.

If the ebay one isn't a match, try these guys: www.tractorpartsasap.com

I got some hard to find carburetor rebuild kits from them once.

If all else fails....any chance of going with an electric pump and whatever it takes for a belt to make up the difference of a missing pump?

You can still get the rebuild kits, but they cost more than the new pump.....

Two flavors depending on what pump you have..:

Have you looked here, or asked the question on the forum?

Good chance someone there can fix you up with a good solution.

Yesterday was a great day, my DB tractor came back to life. Many thx to the contributors! The solution was not the Ebay ad proposed and I have tried many many times to find the pump there (and everywhere else) to no avail but the thought was to try again and bingo got it at last. I put it back together yesterday and now it is running like it came from the factory. Does anybody have a cure for skinned knuckles? Honorable mention goes to Maine in that if absolutely necessary I would try to construct an electric pump system. I just love these DB 990s - 55 real HP and an engine that will last for ever. ALL the three point goodies, creeper gears and locking diff, 12 gears total. 540/1000 - yep it has it all (for me). Totally rebuilt with new tires all for about $4000 delivered. Try that at the JD dealer. Of course, the tin like me is really old, beaten up and worn out. PS the power bandwidth of the engine and a live PTO allows you to pull an 8' bush hog. Like coal, knowledge is power.

Thx again.
