What Size Area Needed for Bulk Coal Load?

Face plant !!.....HA!!.. I DID that once a long time ago with a Bob Cat with the bucket loaded and up high...lol..bouncy little bugger!...one of the bounces tipped it forward and my face got planted nicely!...think I remember pain in the rib cage area or chest though...

I have been contemplating these for some time. Problem is they are one full yard of cured concrete and will weigh about 3-4000 lbs each. Shipping is a problem. Moving those on rough terrain limits the type of equipment you can use. The equipment that can handle them is fairly expensive. That is why I staked up some railroad ties for now. I am working on ideas for some other type of more permament bin that I can construct without hiring heavy equipment. More money in materials but less in rental or contracted labor.

I am thinking 6x6 pt posts with 2x lumber for walls like this photo.

Here ya go. 'waste concrete' blocks at 4000# each, moved with the loader in the background. The 23 tons takes up most of the concrete pad..

The price of the concrete blocks was only $20-25 each when I stacked them up to make this coal storage building.. if they were $100 each, I'd have built out of 6x6 pressure treated and plywood. Just would have made a sturdy pole barn. Greg L.

Go big on the skid steer because you might bite off a bit more than you think with the bucket...
