Only the government could give us an $18 million hole in the ground and have people begging for more. :)

I remember reading an article about this place in Popular Mechanics several years ago.Seeing that it had an airstrip there,I looked it up on my flight simulator and it was there under Adirondack Airpark Estates.

Way way cool, and somewhere near my brother. :) Maybe I'll get up that way and see it. He might be able to afford it. :?

Yes, I looked into this one being a nutcase. Of course you would think the ultimate man cave would sell even in these times - the problem - well the govt contaminated the place with PCBs and God knows what and of course they are going to clean it up one day. Wait, wait, don't run away, I'm, not finished telling you about it.

Hey call Sothebys as they are the listing agent as of January this year. Ask for the environmental report and as Saranac Lake was -26F a few weeks ago, ask them how it's going trying to shut the 92 ton missile loading door, they have been at that one for years. They get about a 100 enquiries a week since Fukushima. I hope you are going to invite your coal board buddies to the opening. I am anxious to see what is under the 200 ft shaft as they never talk about that one. Of course, for $750,000 you only get the silo not the airstrip or the development complex of soon to be built houses (HA), so does that make it land locked? Ask Fred to go in on it with you as they were pitching it as a 4 acre horse farm. Horses love PCBs.

I guess there is enough storage for coal in the silo. Wonder how much it would hold... maybe enough for all of us if we start a co-op

There were a few around the Pittsburgh area that we hauled flyash to & then once full they were capped with concrete.

Even with all the negative PR above, it is way cool. :P Hey, something is going to kill me, it might as well be PCB's! Yup, if I won the lotto anything and could afford it , I would have one.
