I don't know the history but the Allen coal stoker and the wagner coal stoker were both made in Allentown Pa. Both have identical stoker parts. the Allen just sit up higher on the base and no ash pit. Here are some pic of the Allen stoker parts. They are not the best pics, I'll work on getting better ones.

I like the Wagner design better, that motor/gearbox assembly looks well made and sealed..
The Allen's motor is on the opposite side of the fan, which looks like it allowed Allen to use a smaller motor. But the motor shaft through the fan then to the
small gearbox makes me think that replacing the motor or fan bearings could be a lot more work.

Neat old stuff..

That gear reduction motor looks like a very serious piece of hardware. I like the design of the burn pot, it looks like it would maintain a fire really well and last a lifetime.

I was able to assemble 3 complete units out of all the parts I had. The past few years I would get one or two calls a year from people looking for complete stokers to rebuild their wagner. Unfortunately I never had all the parts to help. Now that I have them lets see If I get any calls? http://www.anthracitecoalstokers.com/ Here are some pics of the complete units.

Nice work!

The little "hood" over the holes in the feed pipe is interesting.

It would keep pressure in the auger tube to help prevent burn-back and keep smoke/fumes from coming into the hopper or bin when the stoker is running.

That's right!! I haven't come across a manual for one of these. Sooner or later I'll find one in someones basement..... hopefully. Maybe scrapper has one in his archives?

Speaking of an Allen.... worked on an Allen/efm unit yesterday. Someone in the past did a nice job of sticking an efm 520 stoker into an allen boiler. Works fine, just needed new worms, coal pipes, some plumbing issues. Check it out
