I'm out

I'm out

PostBy: lowfog01 On: Mon Mar 12, 2012 9:52 pm

I put the last of my loose coal in the stove yesterday about 1pm. Then I turned my back and walked away. The fire burned nicely and was going well this evening with just the occasional shake to open the air paths. I took a reading on the Manometer - .02 and dropping. I was worried about losing the draft overnight and waking up dead in the morning so I foiled off the barro and closed my air vent. It's gone, sigh.

Oh well, on to different adventures.

So sad.
But after the Summer the season will start again.
My Harman is also out until late next Fall, but the EFM helps ease the pain.

Not just yet here. Got the VigII hunkered down and doing 20 Hrs between loading and shaking. Window-stats operational at 3". Mid-house temperature 72.5 and it's 58 outside. Almost time to drop a few bricks onto the side of the fire bed.

I still have two 5 gallon pails. I'll probably keep it going until it's gone. New England weather is unpredictable and we could have a blizzard next week. :D

Congrats Lisa....another good season in the books.

I need to move south! There's still ice on the ground here & a bit of snow in the woods. We still have 2 months of heating to do!

I have about 3.25 tons remaining, if I'm lucky that will take me well into the summer.

Yep, my DVC500 is destined to the same fate. Its gonna be in the 80's for the rest of this week, with no end in sight. Mine will be out today, with a thorough cleaning tomorrow.
Burned 2 1/4 ton this season.
I have 22 1/4 ton left....

Leaving my fire burn out also. Didn't fire up since Sunday evening but it is still burning. If the temps drop again I will probably turn the electric heat on for a bit. Burned about three tons since Halloween. Idled along the whole winter only having to tend the fire two times a day for about 7 or 8 days.

I was just advised that the Keystoker should remain active for a bit longer.I never argue with the Secretary of State of Well Being. Mike

I had just a "heart" of glowing coals this morning. I took the blower and pointed into the ash door hoping to bring it back. Looks OK so far but I have to go to school in a while so hopefully this works(again).

Like Fred said: two months yet to go here. May 15th shut down the stove, two weeks later plant the garden and hope there are no late frosts. Might as well live at the north pole.
