Have you noticed that the Congress/insider trading issue has been buried once again, why back when Abranoff got out of jail he let that out of the bag & it was hushed up then. When you are right you are right. Many Japanese Americans served with distinction in Europe during WW 2. Roosevelt had the distinction of opening the first concentration camp for Americans. Typical left wing behavior.

80, in 1941 I was 10 years old. I remember the shock of Pearl Harbor and the lines around the block at the army recruiting centers. I remember the scrap drives and saving zinc toothpaste tubes and the tinfoil in cigaret packages.

Mostly I remember the spirit of the country which if you were not there would be hard to imagine. I remember my dentist (who I really liked) signing up and never coming back. I remember the gold stars in the windows and reading some of the letters from Army officers describing the deaths of their sons. It must have been hell to write those letters as well as receive them.

I'm losing nothing Klook, there is a difference in opinion is all, hopefully we will never see another conventional war. If we were to see one it makes me wonder who will fight, they have lowered the standards for enlistees several times & a increasing # of experienced are leaving rather than reinlisting. Soon our forces aren't going to be what they once were.

I only got to hear some interesting stories from guys that I worked with or knew from friends & family. Sam is right. They locked up some Germans too. But much fewer than Japanese because let's face it, many Germans look like "good Americans" and slanty eyed Nips are easy to spot.

It was "legal", but that don't make it "right".

My basic point of all this, is don't help the government build a gallows, because you might find YOUR head in the noose.

This EO was dangerous from day one, and Obama didn't make it any less dangerous with this update.

The real "Hope and Change" candidate of course is Ron Paul. That he is only garnering at best about 8-9% of the national vote indicates to me that most of us are not really interested in hope and change. Rather, it seems that the most of us are mainly interested in what we can gain from gaming the system, and as long as the system is happily doling out OPM (other peoples money) to those playing the game, the players are willing to go along with an ever accelerating debasement of all of their freedoms. The last I heard was that more than 60% of us are receiving benefits from the current government system in one form or another. That's a mighty base of players who are playing the game, and whom the government effectively has in their back pocket.

There you go again Jpete, your using what we know today to say what they should or should not have done decades ago. They didn't inter every Japanese, we had many serving in the armed forces it was the ones that perhaps weren't here for a long time or made frequent trips or had business ventures with Japan & naturally there were probably most totally innocent but who would want to take that chance?
For Ron Paul, a nice guy with a lot of good ideas & ideals but a lot of totally off the wall ideas as well & not a snowballs chance in hell. The countries been going in the wrong direction for decades & it's going to take a long time to turn around. The longer the true powers can keep everyone fighting each other as far as voters & the same people in office that are already on their payroll or their clones in waiting it's going to take even longer.

You don't know imprisoning innocent people is wrong? You need a couple decades to think about that?

So Ron Paul is off the wall? How so? Because he doesn't want to go to war with every tin pot dictator on the globe?

What happens if you find out a couple decades from now that the government was lying AGAIN and Iran wasn't that much of a threat? Will you say we can't learn from the past?

I forgot to mention that nearly 100% of us would be terrified at the prospects of the termination of Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and many other socialistic programs that have us on the dole to sustain the current neo-fascist and neo-socialist DemoPublican corprotocracy based political system. We are so entrenched in the fear of freedom that we have no concept of what the word means. Many of us think it means sending our young men off to get killed in foreign entanglements of all sorts, with many of our own fabricated making.

I should also mention that Ron Paul wants to end the fiat money based fractional reserve central banking system and return us to honest money. That ought to have most of us running to vote for the establishments Democrat or Republican candidates. Freedom, who needs it. What we need is to feed from the government trough.

About Ron Paul not wanting to go to war, that's one of his good points.
IMO we are very close to a lot of internal strife in the country right now because of the way that kid being murdered in Florida was handled, we may have a bit of a war on our streets.
