So much for the "one match club"! But I'll be damned if I'm going to burn one drop of oil to heat this house when I've still got 1680 lbs. of coal left! :surrender:

Think I'll be back at it tomorrow. I used all I had but the weather forecast calls for a high of 52* all week so no way I'm shivering through that! :D

And yep, the old Hitzer has just been sleeping through all this weird warm stuff & perks up a bit in the evenings. I suspect it's time to turn er up a little. You gotta love the Old Farmers Almanac. toothy

YOU wrote an almanac ???? Where can I get a copy ??? toothy :nana:

Had just bought 1000 lbs rice before the warm up. I figured I could use that for start up next season.......

But like the old farmer next to me said "It ain't time to plant just yet. But all these yuppies want to put flowers in the gardens now. I'll sell them but only if they know I give no refunds if they freeze and die. We ain't done with the cold weather just yet."

Yeah I fired back up yesterday morning. House was 63° before I lit up .... and with the coming forecasts, it was destined for the mid 50's. Way too cold to function in.

Now the house is 70°..... AND I took a shower .... AND did a massive load of laundry, without the oil burner kicking on once. 8-)

just had gotten my hitzer taken apart ,cleaned, painted, oiled up and put back together last week . Had to fire it up yesterday as it calls for 2 weeks of cool-cold weather. Big cold front pushing through from freetown I've been told !

Yesterday I also fired up again. I was thinking of using the electric heat but since I have a lot of coal I built another fire.
