I scanned this from page A-a of the 3-28-2012 Bangor Daily News. The Department of Transportation is replacing a bridge to an island. They sent a notice of public meeting to be printed. The newspaper proof read it but had a technical issue and asked the DOT to resend the ad. Someone at the DOT had some inner office fun but the wrong ad accidentally got sent to the newspaper. The newspaper did not proof read the second copy as they assumed it was a duplicate of the original. It was NOT LOL Today's paper had the correct ad and an apology from the DOT to the island's residents.
It wouldn't surprise me if some bottom sucking lawyer tried to make a dollar off this, but I think most people will see it as good ol' Maine humah.
