Dear Mr. Kaufer:
Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns about Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this critical issue.
In these challenging economic times, I share your interest in making smart policy choices that set our economy on the right track for long term growth. However, I do not agree pollution creates jobs. In fact, it increases health costs, lowers productivity, increases sick days, and is ultimately a drag on our economy. As Congress evaluates policies that protect our air and water going forward, I will be sure to keep your views in mind.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of concern. I invite you to visit my website (http://menendez.senate.gov) to learn more about how I am standing up for New Jersey families in the United States Senate.
