What to do with $ 640 Million Dollars?

The Mega Millions lottery drawing has grown to $ 640 million dollars.

What would you do with that much money??????

It would take me about a year to get over all of the philandering of undeserving women  before I would start my philanthropy to deserving causes.

Be careful what you wish for.

That much money would give all your values a pretty good shaking up.

The best thing would be to get rid of most of it as soon as possible in what you consider worthy causes.

All that money could do alot of good,, i would research out all the needy people that really were down on their luck and help them. There are really alot of good people out there that are willing to learn and educate theirselves that really dont have the money or resources to do it, i would find those people and help them out. Also would buy a big farm somewhere and build a big buiding to take in all stray animals,, horse, cats, dogs,,,, etc. By the way, dont bother to buy a ticket for tonight, i already have the winning ticket in hand,,,,, atleast that is what the lady said i bought my ticket from !!!!! :D :D :D

I usually don't play the Lotto, but in this case I figured what the hell...I have as good of a shot as anyone else. My first order of business would be to pay off any existing debt, after that I guess I would take life as it comes. :D

I already have it spent. :D

I'd find a nice big property somewhere and build a compound on it. I'd invite the close family to live on it in their own house.

I'd buy breaker and coal mine and put everyone in my family to work in it. :)

I'd throw a huge party and give everyone some carefully selected lavish gifts.

For myself I'd buy a plane, yacht and bus which I'd use to travel the world.

the other 400 million would go into trust funds.

The news tonight said that historically, 9 out of 10 people burn through lottery winnings in 5 years or less, regardless of winning size.

Me? 300ish million after taxes? Two million to each family member (myself included).... they may blow it, but more won't make things any better. After that with what's left, I'd be the water man. I wouldn't do it personally as I prefer to stay close to home, but with 1/3 of what's left I would see to it that the many people on Earth that do not have access to good water....have it. Or, at least as many as possible. I don't mean ship them cases of water, I mean drill wells, make ponds, dig canals, supply pumps and fuel or solar. The next 1/3 would be for sanitation. So, so many people still use the ditch out back as the bathroom. I'd teach them how to build outhouses and supply the materials to do so. The last third would go to buying sewing machines, looms and thread. With some luck they can stitch & sell goods to maintain the wells, the outhouses & the machines.

And probably 9 of 10 places will burn through it all and in 5 years not be able to pay the upkeep on the new way of life....but 10 %....ahhhhh.... they will teach their children and with some luck keep the circle going.

I've heard that but I don't understand how that's possible. I understand people might get a little crazy but at some point there really isn't much left to buy is there?

Let's say you went out and spent 10 million on a house, cars and the toys right off the bat. If you had 300 million left you could spend $14K a day for 60 years. :o Even if it were a paltry 10 million you'd have almost $500 a day to spend.

Most of these people must get caught up in bad investments if they are losing the money.

One of my feel good programs of my youth was the Millionaire. I would be John Bears Pertipton and pay it forward to people who have helped my during my lifetime. I too, would provide shelter and water to those who are without. Water is more precious than our oil and millions of the wolrd's poplulation survives on 1/4 cup per day. I too would support the drilling of village wells for potable water.

As a rep for ShelterBox USA I feel for the thousands of people who have no shelter due to floods, quakes, tornados and other disasters that have totally destroyed their lives. I would make generous contiributions to help aleviate there needs.

Oh! I would build a coal bin too.
