Rick Santorum Suspends Campaign

You never know who's going to get in bed together but if Ron and Rick do team up I think Rick will get more out of it than Ron. Ron may have what some would call a small following but very loyal to say the least. Because of this loyal following, it would have been wise for all the other candidates to try to work a deal with Ron P.

That is a good point.

Ron Paul has been on the delegate strategy longer than Rick or Newt. He has more delegates than the MSM is reporting and Mitt isn't going to stroll to the nomination.

Me too. I bought plane tickets to Iran and Kansas for training, as I hoped for a job with Rick's Religious Police. Thought I'd enjoy going house to house and flushing everyone's birth control pills down the toilet. Also thought I might be appointed liaison to God's Rottweiler, Pope Benedict, to consult on legislation, and maybe wear one of those cool Pope Hats when I visited. And in my spare time I'd set up a program of extraordinary rendition for gays and lesbians.

well said rberq, just to religious for me. Even though I side with the conservative/religious types, I am cautious what I wish for. Sharia is the same under Christianity.

I disagree with that statement. Just because you put different views in different boxes doesn't make one better or more conservative then the other. I could write a page on this subject, but I will not. Suffice to say I am an Economic conservative/Libertarian and I will stack my morals up with anyone. Judging how people that go to church act, I will come out in the upper percentile.

What in the Constitution gives you the right to pass laws restricting how other people live their lives because of your Christianity/Social conservatism? FREEDOM to worship or not is guaranteed. Nothing else. Who you live with is not restricted, and many other things. It is convenient to use the Constitution to unseat the present power, then turn around and throw it out to pass your own restrictive laws. As i said, Sharia has a Christian face also.

Yes, you can be half crazy and somehow conclude that Jesus stood for "traditional social values". And you can conclude that when God warned of false prophets, he was speaking to you and not about you.

I'v got to go with Richards simplicity, you New Englanders are getting way to deep for this old farmer. An old friend once told me to read the written word, because there's really nothing between the lines except interpretation.

You could also have the crazy idea that we were never a Christian nation. If you read the bible, then read the Constitution, & do not see the parallels .... then you've been dropped on your head one too many times.

I'm not a religious guy by any stretch - my current geography forbids that, socially (and look how screwed up this place is!!). But I have respect for religious people. Anyone who believes in something so strongly that it makes them do GOOD, then I'm all for it.

Back to what I said about the Constitution: it's writings do no good without belief in God. Take God out of the equation, and the Constitution is just a piece of paper. Now you have an explanation for the war on religion this administration has been doubling down on. It's why the left doesn't want any mention of Christmas in schools, nor nativity scenes on city hall - once they erase religion, GOVERNMENT becomes God. They're starting with our youth ....

I'm just glad my grandparents aren't around to see this with their own eyes. They'd be heartbroken.

Hey, I'm a liberal & I don't mind a nativity scene anywhere City Hall wants to put it on public property but they also should allow others as well. They had a big thing about the Ten Commandments awhile back as well, I figure if you don't like it don't read it, it was most likely there before who ever it or they were that complain. I could never see what difference crap like that makes, if you bend backwards to appease someone for what they feel is their right then you are denying someone else theirs, it can't be both ways people ought to be thankful they live in a country that allows a self centered A-h*** to gripe.
