Those bailouts sure worked great didn't they? Government Motors, at it's finest. Wonder if the government is funding said "tech center" ? Makes you wonder ....

Of course, this was ....... "unrelated to the Volt". :| :funny:  You just can't make this stuff up!

Smitty, what does an industrial explosion have to do with bailouts? And I know you don't give a rats a$$ what I think, but, I must say I find it odd and perverse and offensive that you find humor in this for some reason especially since there were injuries involved.

In case you haven't heard, GM, A.K.A. GENERAL MOTORS, owns the testing facility.

In other news, GENERAL MOTORS RECEIVED GOVERNMENT BAILOUT MONEY.

Again, GM owns testing facility. 'Nuff said.

And WE own GM...
And last time I checked batteries can blow up...
So one would think the battery would be in some sort of....
testing chamber incase it goes bad...

I hear that! That's the main reason I find this so amusing.

With all the OSHA regs out there now, you can't even blow your nose without a safety line hooked to yourself .... yet this major corporation which received BILLIONS of bailout money can't even safely test a battery??? :wtf: REALLY????

So again I say, WAY TO WORK GM!

ANd we all know this is Obama pushing & pushing for green energy .... so they must've rushed through something to please 'the one' and it bit them in the ass. Rightly so.

The battery was a prototype so they most likely didn't know how far they could push it & for some reason one person was in the wrong place at the wrong time, accidents happen especially with industry & unknown factors. In any event anytime someone is seriously injured I don't know why that would bring satisfaction to some, I'm sure that person's family & loved one's aren't jumping for joy.

Not trying to start anything Fred, just put my thoughts out there. After having worked in mostly industrial settings most of my life I've seen far too many accidents I fatalities & knew quite a few of them personally, it's kind of hard going to pay your respects when it's for someone you knew & no matter what you tend to feel that just maybe there was something that could have been done to prevent it.

The thought is with robotics and a large company like GM...
Why is there a human anywhere close to a prototype during testing...
Back in the day loss of life and injury were accpted on the job...
Ever seen the movies of how the Hoover Dam was built...
Trivia...

Exactly. If I managed to survive in the City of Worcester doing a recycling route for 5 years, without getting killed or injured by being hit by a car, than anyone can survive injury free in any workplace. Ever cross the street with 30 impatient *censored* behind you? Your taking your life in your hands if you don't use common sense & be on top of your game every second.

There's no excuse for this happening. NONE. End of story.
