Where the funding for Presidential candidates comes from

Check out this treasure trove of information! Scroll through it carefully sector by sector, starting with to whom the lobbyists are giving their campaign finance money. Education, Casinos, Pharmaceutical, Health Care, etc..., its all here. Using this tool it is clear who is buttering the bread of the candidates, and who their favorites are.

To my surprise the health care and pharmaceutical industries are donating heavily yo President Obama's re-election campaign. The insiders of the health industry obviously like Obamacare a bunch!

I played a guessing game with that one .... and I got them all right except for the oil/gas one. Forgot about Rick Perry ...

That's just what we KNOW. Imagine what goes on behind the scenes ...

Good to see one candidate doesn't allow himself to be bought by lobbyists.

- Small Individual Contributions $16,119,202 (47%)
- Large Individual Contributions $17,128,189 (50%)

If you look at a different industries overall through the election cycles most are going to be evenly split with bias towards whatever party is expected to win. Off the top of my head, there's three exceptions where there is some really wide margins. The fossil fuel industry heavily favors Republican candidates. On the other hand what must be the two heaviest hitters lawyers and the unions favor the Dems.

If you go back to 2008 lawyers gave 187 million to the Democrats compared to 56 million to Republicans there is nothing that even comes close to those numbers except the unions .

Crossroads GPS gets anonymous $10 million check to run anti-Obama ads. WaPo story on the development features big photo of Sheldon Adelson. Coincidence or broad hint?

Another surprise is that President Obama has brought in more than twice the money that Mitt Romney has brought in. He also has tons of money on hand whereas Mitt has spent just about everything he has received to date in gaining the Republican nomination. Therefore President Obama has a huge head start toward his re-election if money has anything to say in the matter.
