Would you believe it

We have a winter storm watch for tonight thru Tuesday, cold, high winds & S*** if it does what they say it will be more snow than all of March. Just hope it moves fast & doesn't mess with too many crops, you all will be blaming B.O. for higher grocery prices :( guess the plows will be going back on the trucks & they will start dumping all that left over liquid crap back on the roads.

LOL, the old man already put some tomatoes in but only a few. He did it knowing it might snow.

-----edit------

Looking at the local news they are only calling for rain and possible flurries Monday but this is higher elevation too.

Doesn't surprise me that we have not yet recieved winter last jab. I hope it doesn't do any harm to any crops or such.Hopefully this doesn't give the global warming tree huggers something to rant about. And since you opened the door "samhill" the price of food and everythhing else IS going up due to fuel and shipping prices. BO is to blame for the fuel prices. Average price of gas when BO took office around $1.80. :(

Plumb-r, as a apparent member against bigger & more involvement of Gov. & allowing big business to run rampant without any restraint just how is this Obama's fault that big oil, speculators & wall st. have decided that it is once again time to gouge the public? If you can't see a pattern in gas prices then you must have very poor vision, there will be more to come & it doesn't matter who is in office or how much we drill, use & export. In case you are also sarcasm impaired my remark was meant as just that.

The only thing I "blame" Obama for "doing" are the things that are in his power yet refuses to do.

Inaction is just as bad as action.

Back on topic :) We got at least 5" through the night til now. It's supposed to turn to rain this afternoon. I already took the snowblower and cab off my tractor. It'll melt pretty quick.

Hasn't done anything here yet. They are still calling for a pretty good nor'easter though.

Mutha Nature NEVER looses out to the 'urban cowboys', and like I said as you guys let your rigs burn out....get cleaned......it doesn't really matter if you burn 24/7-365. It STILL is not over after this one goes by. Get busy and make covers for the garden plants that are already in, stake em down real good, secure anything that will blow away......Oh, it is not necessary to shave your legs to get ready for this storm, they have been coming like this for centuries. Bob way up in FT Kent already has a 6" blanket and is gonna get rain later...what's the big deal. Pick up the kids toys...plan on a power loss...water, food, first aid stuff, flash lights, blankets, candles......how romantic!!!!

The "Tanning Index" is ZERO today!!!!!  :eek2: :dancing:

My area seems to have been lucky cold & flu wise so far, with temp. swings like we have been having for months now one would think that everyone would be coughing & sneezing. Even now it will be cold & raining & then the sun will come out for a bit & warm it up, been a strange year.

Set up the swamp/sump pump in the sunny days prior to the storm...
That done will keep the downpours away... ;)

Fox News in 2008 claimed that the president could not influence gas prices and said that the way to reduce gas prices was to conserve and use less.

I remember gas prices reaching $5.00 a gallon for a while in '08.

Fox Not-News believes only Democratic presidents can influence gas prices.

But you are right, if we would conserve then demand would drop and price would drop and we would save double. Imagine if everyone was getting 30 to 35 miles per gallon.

Which leads me to think -- stream of consciousness -- that if my gasoline had zero ethanol instead of 10 percent, my mileage would probably go up by 10 percent and I would use the same or less gasoline overall and then I could afford to buy beef again because the corn would be going into animals instead of into my gas tank.
