coal price

Just got off phone with Chervy Coal, in Plymouth, Pa. nut picked up $185 Ton. Like to go to UAE, but friend doesn't care to go that far. UAE is about 115 miles from me, his truck is a F550 diesel, 14 foot dumper bed. So i guess fuel to run 230 miles would cost more than $185 a ton going to breaker. So going this saturday for 4 tons. will post how it burns when i get some. he said i shoud try some stove and see how it works in my boiler. So might see about a bag or 2 of it to trry. Hopefully i can get it free, after just buying 4 tons nut. Not cheap, just want to try the stove coal. In coldest part of winter it might be the better choice. Possibly range mixed with some nut.

Fuel would be around 7.0 mpg average(round trip) if the 550 is running well...plus wear and tear on tires, brakes, etc. I know some bonehead will splash back that he gets 21 MPG...hell you can't get that in a 150 with NO trailer. I have driven 350's, 450's and 550s' for years , so keep it sane. No "Hog Tales".

The coal will be fine, but 'baby steps' may be safer until you are comfortable with the quality.
