this has to be the biggest design blunder I've ever seen!!! build a engine that requires the total(almost) dissasembly to replace a starter....CRAZY!!! then make the starter drive out of plastic!!!! Will be using neversieze liberally on reassembly!!!

Oh man! Things like this drive us crazy. Wouldn't you like to build, then pack the designer's lunch box? Make it a can of Spaghettios and the can opener is built into the lunch box. He'll discover that the can will only fit the opener if the box top is removed. To remove the top you have to have a tamper proof #3.7 Torx wrench but once you get the wrench he finds the top blocks it from full rotation. The 12 hinge bolts must be turned 1/32" at a time, removing and replacing the wrench each time. Ahhh, now that the top is off the box when he goes to use the opener he sees you need a special tool for opening Spaghettios. Oh look, on the can it mentions you get a free tool inside every can!

They don't design things today with you the consumer in mind. They are designed to keep the mechanic's and service centers busy and making money on repairs and parts. They can't make any money if they sell one that lasts years without needing serviced by the dealership. They are designed to keep the consumer not knowing and inpossibe to repair.firewoodman wrote:this has to be the biggest design blunder I've ever seen!!! build a engine that requires the total(almost) dissasembly to replace a starter....CRAZY!!! then make the starter drive out of plastic!!!! Well guess you also won't be owning a cadillac, with northstar engine. starter is under intake manifold, in valley between heads.
