Thanks William. That stove is exactly ""the"" one for my installation. The next few weeks will tell how the grate performs.

The center grate in the Bride is probably better cause having the triangular one like in Glenwood stoves. I think that all stoves could/should have triangular grates.
But as you know, a few weeks of burning is the best way to know a stove

Thanks very, very, very much buck24 . Controlling the heat output on low burning seems very good now. For the high one we will see later but I'm happy with the present results.

So now that it has been burning for awhile how does that ashing/grate system work for you??

What temperatures are you running the stove at?

Are you running the 'BRide too?

Hi Greg. Good to have you back home ! Thanks for the good words.
I ran the Sunny with éco-logs for a few weeks twice a day but these logs don't make very much ash so it was then impossible to test the grate job. Tonight for the second time I shaked the grate and was surprised to clear the ash with so little movement. But I still wait a few weeks before being shure of the results. More prudent with the years The stove is burning at around 250/300*F now and the 3 levels are warm, outside temp. is 0*C/32*F now. The Bride is still sleeping now cause not cold enough now for 2 stoves.

Hi Pierre, no, I haven't had time or ambition to work on the little baseheater, maybe in the colder months.
I also still don't have a chimney in the house to use with any stove in the house. And while I do know where I would like to install a chimney, it will require messing up the interior of my home that just a few years ago, I refurbished.. I'm not fond of the idea of doing more interior work on the house.
I'll see, maybe I'll decide to install a chimney next year, if my health holds up.

It sounds like the SunnySide is working out well for you..

It will be interesting to hear how it heats when the weather gets cold.

How is the grate system working out Pierre? Sounds like you good control of the temps and that's most importent.

Well Steve the grate seems to work much better than I supposed to. If you remember, the ""holes" in the grate were quite large and probably for stove size ant. Even if I reduced the holes down, the still not very small and that could help to send the ash down with the bares welded on it's top to make a sort of raking action.
But as already said, a few weeka will tell the real tests.
I remember the new Vig ll., the first days were so nice but the other ones were just the beginning of a long Modifs-Frustations-Re-modifs-.........and finally the Satisfaction road

The avatar is a picture of the Summit from last year, not finished with the 6 just yet. It only needs a couple minor things, one of the great members here is sending me one item, Doug at Barnstable called and said he had my items ready to ship, and then the nickel and that's it.

I better get busy on the hearth soon .

The parts for nickel plating haven't been sent out yet, late last week they were still not ready to start replating parts. They relocated their business and still had to finish setting up the electric to run the equipment. I will try and call them again today and check the status.

I am having an ashpan made by a member here, and another member is sending me some of the liner material you pound into shape. I bought new grates and gears from Doug at Barnstable, along with the wood burning grate just to have and make the stove 100% complete.

How many days did it take you to make the hearth for the bride ?

I don't remember exactly how long but it was done in a weekend. The longest to do was the fire-proof back wall cause the stove pipe is about 6" far from it.
