DHW-Setting for Summer?

Now that heating season is over I want to set -up my KA-2 for DHW for the "Off" season.
I was wondering how many pins to use on the timer and also what setting for the stoker?

What settings are you using currently? You may not have to change anything.

For the KA-6 it's a balance between the adjusting nut and the pin time. I don't remember what turn mine is at but I did not change it since last summer summer and ran all winter. The pin time- 2-3 pins per 30 minutes on mine. That will depend on your draft and how clean your flue/pipes are. I tried one pin every fifteen minutes a month ago and nearly lost the fire. Need to clean the pipes though.

I had my timer with 8 pins every 10 minutes and changed that to 4 every 10 minutes. I have been dialing down the stoker 1 turn at a time but cannot say where I am as it relates to all the way in.
I am going to watch things for a while. I want to see if the amount of coal used makes it worth while to run it all summer.

I would start by adjusting the timer, if you back the feedrate down there is a good chance the boiler won't be able to keep up with your DHW demand.

The Keystoker manual recommends 6 pins every 10 minutes.
