When they say reservoir bin I assume that he got a burn back into the hopper and had a hopper smoldering fire?

Good post, we can't be reminded too much to keep the chimney or as in my case direct vent clean & functioning properly.

Now that's a damn shame. Well put Sam---good post CN---lest any of us take safety maintenance for granted--it ain't rocket science, it's about gettin off your ass & makin sure your system is safe!! Chimney, gaskets, etc.

And I would assume there were no detectors operating in the home. Cant have enough of them.
