Took today off, went down to NJ to moms. other plans this weekend, so gave her my love and well wishes early. While there biggest thing she wanted was the"OTHER" lilac bush cut back like one we did the other year. No problem, took chainsaw, used brother small FWA tractor with bucket and backhoe, and got r done. Also lightly trim a few bushes by house, and then I just went around yard trimming other here and there, brush removal out of pine trees here and there. Got to say... property has overgrown in back area , and front is just plain grown, and getting older growth.
The upper garage is for cars, back part, the shed, is used by my other brother for making a living. he and I both made an income for a number of years doing auto work out of it. TY again Mom.
sussex county, NJ just outside branchville. Gods country of NJ. one pic I took down driveway, then zoomed at bronco across street, and you can see the lower platuea heading east from ridge her house is on.
Happy Mothers Day, Mom.

Happy Mothers Day to all the forum Moms. All two or three of them.
Can't blame the guy because it wasn't marked well, he was cutting the grass because we didn't have a rider yet.
We had this lilac bush next to my house that was there since I was a kid, the house burned down but my aunt had saved a little bit of it. She carefully nurtured it though the Spring and Summer and then brought it to the new house and we planted it at it's new home. The new neighbor promptly ran it over with his lawn mower......... They're hardy plants. Have given many people new shoots of these bushes over the years. This is first true thinning of them in about 30 years. All the fresh dirt around the tall one is how large the actual bush was, and smaller one in pic was same size 2 years ago before thinned. Pine trees in pics were shorter than house when folks bought it back in fall of 1960.

There was little nub left about 2 inches long. We were hoping it was going to come back but nothing happened.wilder11354 wrote:They're hardy plants.
