I just started researching family genealogy back on Ancestry.com for the first time since 2004. I believe I found my paternal grandmother who was Helen Kane and was born in Chambersburg Ward 2 Franklin County Pennsylvania.

Does anyone ever search for ancestors or by chance be related to a Kane from that area?

My grandmothers father I believe was named John C Kane and lived in Southampton as late as 1930 according to the census.

This summer I will be travel to Chambersburg and search for Helen Kane's birth or baptism certificate from 1899. If the middle name is Ursuline, then I have an exact match and can expand my search from there.

Kane seem's to be a popular name in Pennsylvania!

For those researching family history in Pennsylvania.

"You have the right to search any type of Chester County public records that you want because of a law that was passed in February of 2008. That law was called the Right to Know Law and it opened up the public records to the public throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania. Narrowing the search down to Chester County doesn’t change your right, it only makes your search easier to accomplish."
