Looks like I started a trend here. I've been using a Coffeemaster for many years.

I've found a lot of historical and technical information on these coffeemakers, I'll add some as time permits.

Really cool John. I learned a little about these type coffee makers on Wiki. I wanted a great coffee maker a couple years ago and got a fancy Cuisinart machine off Ebay. I used it once and put it away, then gave it away to the church rummage sale. It had a timer, self- grinder that grinds the coffeee just before brewing, stainless vacuum-bottle carafe. It was the clunkiest, worst designed coffee maker. You had to turn the carafe upside down to pour, low capacity, and I swear you had to disassemble and clean a dozen parts every use!
Then I found a 4 cup Mr. Coffee for $2 at a thrift shop in Pittstown, NJ. Been using that one ever since!

Several years ago when the last Coffeemaster gasket failed I bought a nice Bunn drip coffee maker. Got it home, unboxed it, found the little plastic spray head broken off and rolling around in the box. I saw "Made in (Red) China", boxed it back up, took it back to Lowe's.
I have a Corningware 9 cup percolator. I used that until I found a guy online that molds replacement gaskets out of silicone rubber.

I only have one Coffeemaster - it is a fully functional C30C.

In my continuing effort to stop the C30C from barfing out coffee and water every time I run it I have read the service manual and determined that the aftermarket Dayseal gasket is positioning the dip tube too far from the bottom of the lower pot. Since the heating element runs around the perimeter of the vessel the heat travels to the center, the outside heats first. Positioning the tube closer to the bottom of the vessel slows the action of the boiling water. I came up with a little modification using a piece of 1/2" copper pipe, chamfered to wedge against the tube.
Water to the 6 cup mark, 8 tablespoons of coffee, and success!

Since only used 55+ year old gaskets are available we have to work with what we can get I suppose. At least there is a new silicone rubber gasket available.

My Coffeemaster takes a while to draw the coffee back down, but it does empty the upper chamber. After some reading it seems that my use of auto-drip grind coffee and softened water isn't helping.

I'm using softened water as well, although I do have a tap in the line before the softener, I installed one so I could draw unsoftened water to test the hardness. If I have issues with the drawdown I'll use water from that tap.

On a side note the water here is so high in calcium carbonate even with the softener I still get some "water spots" from time to time. especially if it's getting close to time for the softener to recharge.

Got this really nice C30C on eBay, It's the nicest one I've ever seen. I bought it for my daughter, once I test it I'll be giving it to her.
