Great essay to send to kids just starting their college experience in the Fall. Maybe it will plant a seed in their minds as to where to put their energy and not waste their time on worthless courses which are offered.

The problem is, the worthless courses are often required.

I have to take a "Humanities" elective to get my degree. The choices are pointless. That's why I am taking a condensed 5 week semester in "Pop Culture"

They're not worthless to the education racket. The more useless the more money and most idiots can pass.

Excellent reading, franco. I agree with it totally. I can speak from personal experience as I worked to pay for a Degree. It took seven years of hard effort. Seven years that I could have been building a career. No one has given me a job because I have a Degree. I'm glad I got it just to say I did it and I did it on my own, working at all kinds of crummy jobs from being a cook to working at a truck dock all night. The effort and work to get the degree was much more of an education, than the actual education itself.

That's called the college of hard knocks. You don't forget the lessons.
