I am happy that we woke up with no property damage from these storms.
The front that came thru yesterday was the Worst storm I have ever seen, by far.
Rain came down so hard we had 2" in 20 minutes. The driveway was a river, that ran from the street, and ended up running UNDER my 40'x50' workshop. I thought it would float away! The farm alongside us didn't fair so well. His large barn had its roof torn off by a micro-tornado. I'll going over there now to see what I can do.

Sounds like a repeat of '09 with the rain!

Last year to the day yesterday, we had an F3 tornado touch down & run a 39 mile path of destruction starting in Brimfield.

Good Morning all,

'Tis the season as my wife and I are off to a wedding today also. Good sausage, egg, cheese bagel for breakfast along with juice and coffee.

Great news yesterday. I got a email notifying me that I passed the exam I took in April. This exam was the final exam needed to recieve my Professional Engineers license (PE). Paper work to follow. Great career move that I should have taken 15 to 20 years ago. Better late than never but is was far from easy and expensive too. Now I can put PE after my name which also means PASSED EXAM!! :punk:

By the way, there is a shuttle bus from the reception to the hotel. No cars keys required which will be a good thing.

I just got back from my neighbors farm. The barn roof looks repairable. It took off like a kite! Ins agent said not to touch anything yet.

I believe I finished painting all panels, I may start putting the engine in, this week.
I have two donor-saws that I have been harvetsing parts from....

Finished half of the tie-rod project, but before fed-ex got here did some fishing. 20 1/2" largemouth, too bad they aren't in season yet.

nice fish Moss. got a 18" large mouth 2 weeks ago in lake tamaque....wasnt in season too,,, but with a bit of butter was seasoned pretty good 8-)

The last few days are a blur..
On last wednesday, I flew down to WestPalmBeach, on Thursday I packed up my Mother's van for her summer spent at the farm in Michigan.. ON friday I started out on the 2 day drive. 7am to 7:30pm on Friday.. On Saturday, 8am to 4pm.. damned glad that is over with until September.

Saturday after I got back, there were a few small thunderstorms around.. one developed a very strong gust-front,, I'll estimate the winds at 60+mph..
the wind took down a few tree branches, but pulled the lag bolts holding the sliding door track out of the barn,, and left a sliding barn door in the driveway..

Sunday, well I felt like I'd been run over by a truck.. aftereffects of the drive I think.. I got a few things done around the place, but not much..

Today I have two helpers, the woodworking guy who built my staircase, he's working on trim and stair railing in the breezeway.. And will replace a few
fence boards on the old fence out back.. the wind was strong enough on saturday to blow off several of the fence rails.. they are really rotted,
So a few new fence rails to make the place look a bit better.

And I'm on my third painter.. SIGH.. What's with work ethics with young people today?? The first two worked hard for a day or two, then didn't show up again..
This one I hope will be reliable, but I only have him untill the 15th..

I think the place is looking better, but it still is a mess.. see the attached photo.

The weekend gathering on the 23/24th is fast approaching.. but the list is getting a lot of things marked off .

OK, gotta go.
