My wife cuts my hair and the kids hair. I make sure I catch her when she's having a good day... then I ask for a haircut!
When I come home from the barber, my wife says, "Oh, you had your hair done!" I keep reminding her that men have their hair CUT, not DONE. I'd be happy to have her cut it, and I'm sure she would do a good job after some practice. But getting through that practice period could be hell.
One of the big social changes in my lifetime: many "hairdressers" now cut men's hair as well as women's. Who'd of thunk it?
