I give money to Monsanto every time I spray Roundup. I like Roundup more than I like weeds.

I am willing to eat some pesticide and/or fungicide residue if it means not having to eat bugs and rotten fruit.

Some of the r&d into genetically modified food is to make plants and animals immune from certain diseases without the use of chemicals or vaccine. If companies like Monsanto make money along the way, so what. If they act un ethically that is a separate issue to be resolved.

How to tell if your produce is GM..

If it has a 4 digit PLU beginning with 3 or 4, it is conventionally grown (poisons, pesticides)...

The lead digit (0) is left off on a 4 digit code. A five digit code beginning with 8 is GMO and five digits beginning with 9 is organic. See http://www.plucodes.com/ for more information.

The founding fathers were patriots all willing to work together for the good of the country as a whole, get that interested in the country not their own ambitions & pockets & willing to listen & compromise, that's why they were able to come up with the Constitution.
There was a bit of a study here during planting season & there is some speculation that the treated corn is what is killing off some bees. The corn is coated & a bit sticky so they use a type of talc to keep the seeds running thru the planters that shoot the seed in with air pressure, the contaminated talc then becomes air born & lands on vegetation adjacent to the fields. The bees going about their everyday job carry this insecticide to other plants & back to the hive.

Wow I better not comment too much there's so many experts here. I like Gaw's opinion good man.

"The founding fathers were liberals"- just exactly like Messiah ultra left wing radical potus who is busy undermining the constitution every day. :D

"I know exactly what is killing the honey bees!" Yeah sure because you read something on a website while you were sitting in your underwear.

I put up graphic illustrations to,o it's fun but it's also just propaganda. :P

Maybe those 800,000,000 forgiven upstanding new citizens will find a solution to all the complications we're facing.

I also heard Monsanto is trying to produce Roundup -resistant corn can't say that's at the top of my list of threats to my freedom but it's there someplace.

Also heard Roundup is similar to anti-freeze and you know what that does to the lawn.

OK have a nice eco-day everybody and don't forget to hug a tree.

Monsanto already DOES produce "Round Up Ready" seeds. They have for years.

And if you don't think the idea of a country where the people can rule themselves rather than a divine king wasn't "liberal" in the late 1700's, then maybe it's time to do a bit more reading.

It wasn't just liberal, it was REVOLUTIONARY! :D

Yep - like I said, the word "liberal" was hijacked from the left, and permanently ruined (at least for me). They're progressives (and *censored*!).

More properly in todays terms (required, since as Smitty has said, the Democtats have usurped and redefined the term) the founders were "Classical Liberals". By far the closest thing to a "Classical Liberal" today would be the Libertarian Party.

Back then they were republican democrats or the other way around but it was still the same party, I think the republicans (name) disappeared for awhile. When they did reappear they were all ready war mongers & willing to sell the country to big business just as they are today.

Yes it was the other way around and they became the Democrats. Jefferson was a Democrat.

I could have sworn the South attacked the North to start the Civil War. Should have realized you are pro slavery since you favor laws to enslave the working man.

I guess both World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam were instigated by Republicans to benefit big business.

I am sure you have. My reference was to the politics you espouse which can only result in slavery for the working man as it did and does in all leftist states with the exception of Norway which is saved by oil revenues.

“When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing — when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors — when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you — when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self- sacrifice — you may know that your society is doomed.”

— Ayn Rand

This sums up big government.
