Communism and Capitalism

PostBy: Dann757 On: Sat Jun 23, 2012 7:21 pm

This is a seriously interesting article. Sam, I told you I would put this up. It makes me think about the ideas I hold on to. It stirred up a lot of the ideas I have about corporations!
There's other good articles on that website, I'll try to take it in with a grain of salt and would like to hear comments about it.
I hope we're not all screwed totally :D
God Bless America.

It seems to me that the author of the article has clearly mistaken todays mixed economy with its ever more dominating blend of Corporatist, Fascist, Neo-Con, and Socialist elements (combined with a fiat monetary system run amok) for Capitalism. I clearly recall George Bush boldly stating that he had to abolish capitalism in order to save it. Nothing I've seen since its abolishment has led me to believe that anyone has subsequently stepped in and restored it.

Lsayre, glad you responded, that article kind of freaked me out.

I try to be a staunch capitalist; but I'm just a miniscule grain of sand in life.

I think I utilized capitalism to some extent today. My capital was my ability to perform physical work, my wheelbarrow and shovels and rakes. I used that capital to generate profit; 60 bucks. :D That's the simple life I want and not much more.

I hate to see evil and powerful forces undermine our way of life and it's happening faster than I can understand.

That's why I say he who has the gold makes the rules, it didn't happen overnight & it can't be fixed overnight. A while back Richard (I believe) had a subject dealing with human obsolescence & that's one of the things we're heading for there has to be a balance of humans & work. The scales are tipping rapidly, just a few days ago I raked baled & stored hay that would have taken 4 to 6 men all day I did in a matter of several hours & I never ran the equipment before. The article didn't mention eminent domain, the Gov. can take your property in a heartbeat, look up the fracking pipeline where a Canadian Co. has been using that threat against American landowners. Even as we see almost daily it seems where Corp.s gobble up others to create even bigger Corp.s & with every buyout or merger humans are the odd man out. It ain't an easy answer & it won't be an easy fix, at times you have to stand back & look at the big picture. Dan, I'm with you on the capabilities being used as capital & I prefer the barter system overall believe it or not I could care less what anyone has as long as they don't try & force or otherwise make me or my way of life into what they want me to do.

The very word 'Capitalism' itself did not exist until somewhere in the circa 1850's to 1860's era. The first use of the word is variously attributed to either Karl Marx or William Makepeace Thackeray.

The word Lassez-faire apparently dates to 1680.

The merger of the two words (I.E. 'Lassez-faire Capitalism') signifies the ideal of Capitalism in a truly free world. It's practice requires the "separation of economy and state". We do not have anywhere near such a separation. We are in fact rapidly approaching the very opposite of it (I.E. Fascism, the fusion of economy and state).

Ohh that's great! Then you can't possibly support Obama, right? You know, the guy that wants to unconstitutionally FORCE us to BUY healthcare :)

You must have changed your mind overnight, you were defending Holder yesterday; you know, the guy that wants to brainwash the American people into giving up the Second Ammendment

Not that easy Dann, you have your opinion of what's going on & I have mine. Like to say more but I'm off to a class BD Party, when you get old you try & have a get together more often than 5 years.

Dann, neither Obama or Holder tried to force me to do anything, as for the HC, I pay my own premiums & always have when I've had it. The few times I kids needed care I paid for that totally out of pocket just so all you tax payers weren't stuck with the bill. If everyone did that there would be no need for a HC Bill..

But do you think it's acceptable to be FORCED to have heath insurance?

The phrase "when I've had it" means you either don't now or at some point in the past, didn't.

Would it have been OK with you to either be forced to have it or pay a fine for not having it?

That is the question.

Yep, I do Jpete, if it does get repealed I think they should do it totally & also repeal the emergency care law. Have all or none at all, I don't like having to pay more for health services to make up for those that pay nothing. How about you.

I think people should be able to decide for themselves if the want health insurance without threat of government violence.

OK but what do you propose happens to those that can't or won't pay, should they be treated or not? Also I never considered a fine as violence, just like violating a traffic law, you get fined if you get caught, it's a result of your actions now if they drug you out of the car & smacked you around then it would be violence.
