Amazing. Roughly an average of $35 for elaborate stoves that today would cost $3,500. By that scale, todays dollar buys only one pennies worth of what the 1909 dollar was capable of purchasing. Sounds about right.

It really makes you sick to see" the numbers" and realize how little the dollar is worth today.

WOW !! We had a Montgomery Wards Center in Menands NY. You could order almost anything out of the catalog and it would be ready a few hours later. That was about 45 years ago. I think the store was at least 6 stories high. The downloadable catalog was from a time we should surely return to where honesty was foremost and value was mentioned routinely. They used the term "Cheap" which is never used today but oftened delivered as a finished product :x :x
