Where to find bags for coal

Where to find bags for coal

PostBy: rrob311 On: Sat Jun 30, 2012 11:19 pm

I bag my own coal but I ran out of bags. I bag at the breaker. Does anyone know of a good place to get bags that is easy access off I81 in the Scranton/ Wilkes Barre area? I am heading down that way tomorrow and need like 30-40 bags.

Wish you had made this post a few weeks ago. I had around 50 Kimmel's bags that I threw out.

Don't know if you pass any place that deals with grains & feeds, it's Western Reserve around here but they always have empty bags. Most farmers will have a few hundred laying around.

I was just going to suggest that also. A "grain elevator" should have bags that they can offer you. In fact, many people return grain bags, but by law (silly as it is) the grain elevators are not permitted to re-use bags. Or at least that's what they told me when I asked if I could return bags to the one where I buy my chicken feed in Maysville, OH (Maysville Elevator).
