Burning rivers were a failure of government to begin with. Anything that threatens my life, liberty and/or property is illegal and should have been prosecuted.

I suppose you'll be singing the same tune when the EPA starts outlawing things you want, like coal perhaps?

Hey Jpete, You're saying some good things these days :!: Our poor constitution is being trampled on by the shiny black shoes of politicians and lobbyists and lawyers and corporations more and more every day. ( Did ya hear that Sam? I'm now aware of the absolute greed of some corporations!)

Yeah, Bobby, now all the illegals can breathe clean air while they ruin our country. How could you go back to "rivers that burn" when you never were near one.
Maine is the safest state, sounds great. Obama is taking care of that by dumping 80,000 Somalian Nationals in your back yard, or so I heard. Of course they're exempt from the Obamatax and get free healthcare. :)
Don't worry, they'll wreck your state soon enough, then you can whine with first-hand knowledge. :o

Dann, I have been noticing your learning curve a bit & even more so your self restraint, I may be in the minority here as well on this but I think that name calling & threats are just things that come out when you have no direct defense & take away more from a discussion than they could ever add. I wasn't aware of 80,000 Samoans coming to our shores but they are part of the U.S. just not a state as of yet, perhaps it's for the NFL draft.

Dan, you keep noticing how great Maine is. I wish you'd move here. Always a backlog of things my old house needs, I could use your craftsmanship. But we would not talk politics. :)

Not Samoans. Somalians. Think "Black Hawk Down"

And why they decided Ellsworth is a good place for them, I'll never know...

Not true. Chemicals in the river were not illegal until Congress passed laws and the EPA adopted regulations that made them illegal. YOU may like the regulations, but they threatened MY liberty (to pollute) and MY property (profits) if I was the one dumping the chemicals.
"Anything that threatens my life, liberty and/or property is illegal" is not the way the country works, and you would not want it to be, because then there is no mechanism for deciding between your liberty and my liberty.

Because the only helicopters in Ellsworth belong to rich folks from away, and we don't care if they get shot down because we dislike them for buying up the whole coastline so the natives can't get near the ocean.

No mechanism?

Hm. Could have sworn we had a constitution or something that enumerated things like this.

Guess not.

You learn something new every day....

Ellsworth must have had a boom since the last time I was up there. The richest people I saw were in the Wal Mart.

I guess that leaves out my family up in Addison. :)

You can't afford me. Just wait and Obama will get you all your repairs for free. :D
But on an honest note, I have been considering it for a long time, might have to go even farther. Realize, New Jersey life will make anyone mean.

How can you notice my learning curve when I have 30 I.Q. points on you? :D

There is no direct defense with you, you could frustrate the Buddha. You are an expert at deflection, circular logic, and master of the outdated liberal link.
Actually, Richard has told me to back off only a couple times. Koom buy ah

And if we have a "right" to health care, why not a right to a house and food?

Surely nothing is more important to my well being than food in my stomach and a roof over my head?

You laugh, but I just got an email saying Joe Biden wants to buy me a cup of coffee, so that's a start at least.
I gave five dollars to President Obama a few years ago, and have been getting entertaining emails several times a week ever since.
Tonight I'm going find a way to give a couple bucks to Romney and get on his email list. Let's see if HE offers me coffee, or just a call center job in China.
