The AF150 efm automatic coal stoker furnace

The AF150 efm automatic coal stoker furnace

PostBy: stoker-man On: Wed Nov 28, 2007 3:54 pm

After being out of production for 20 years, due to the strong renewed interest in automatic coal furnaces, compatible with central A/C, the AF-150 has been put back into production. They have been available for about one year.

The heat exchanger has been redesigned, but it has been made to fit into the same footprint of the older AF-100 and AF-150 models furnace. It's a drop-in replacement.

Go to our website --- efmheating.com --- to see all the details of this furnace, as well as our coal stoker boiler. Or call for immediate assistance at 610 965-9041

Is this the only furnace made by efm?

And it looks like "150" is the only size available.

Thanks!

It's the only coal furnace, but the BTU output is fully adjustable.

Anyone have experience with the EFM AF150 or the Keystoker A150?

The main difference between these two hot-air furnaces is the feed mechanism. The EFM uses an auger and the Keystoker is hopper fed.

But, does anyone consider one better than the other? My guess is that the EFM is the better built unit.

Thanks!

The stoker mechanism is identical to the one used in the 520 boiler and they last a lifetime. The heat exchanger lasts about 20 years normally from what I hear, but there are many out there that are older. Lifespan is greatly affected by overheating them. The difference between the supply and return air should never exceed 75 degrees.

If you just need the relay for the timer, they are available separately. If you need the whole timer control, I think I have one.

I would like to know if I would be able to put a 520 stoker mechanism on a new af150 furnace. If so I believe the mounting brackets are a little different. Would I be able to purchase the af heat exchanger assembly,af furnace cabinet assembly, and af furnace blower assembly to make a full package furnace? Please let me know what you think.

Yes, you can use an S-20 stoker on a boiler or a furnace. You can buy a package without the stoker and probably save $2000. You can buy any combination of parts you need.
