Dan, just like your hero presidents, Obama never had control of both houses. Money has control of both houses, almost always has & it's to the point now that they don't even hide that fact but just like the gays they are not ready to come out of the closet. Most know who they are but they don't have the total irreversible control quite so they won't come forward, besides that it's so much more fun to watch the masses argue amongst themselves.
