Considering more than half the people in this country didn;t support it when it was passed and more than half the people don't support it now I would suggest it was the American public that lost. Sam, the Democrats had a fantastic chance to really do something good, they had full control of both houses and the WH. They also had nearly the full support of the population to pass healthcare reform, instead they got fed a 2700 layer *censored* sandwich.

Richard, I'll say once again for a long time neither party has ever had control, just how much have the Ins. Industry lobby spent on defeating this bill? Why do you think a "for profit" industry would do that, to lower HC costs for the people?

My workplace is too similar to how our government operates. I dont understand why "our" elected officials continue to create new programs when we already have similar things in place. Why didnt we just reform medicare and medicaid instead of a whopping new bunchya nonsense. My .02 cents worth is a mere job justification, if you arent doing something new you must not be doing anything at all. Seems as if it would be too difficult too fix what we already have in place than make something new. I wonder when they are gonna create a new "social security", you all know that this is probably the next assanine debacle thats gonna come into play once obamacare is rammed down our throat.

The insurance companies spent the money, so according to you, this is the bill they wanted.

Other than the mandate, what parts of the ACA do you not like? Answers like "the whole thing", repeating "the mandate" or its a "government take over of health care" which we know as false because the insurance companies still receive your premiums. just will not cut it.

Or how about "it's the largest tax increase in the nations history" Of course, less than 2% of the people in this country will be affected as it is only the people that do not have health insurance and can afford it will have to pay on the average of $75 a year.

Please be specific as to the parts of the bill that you don't like.

I'm not gonna look up the exact sections, I'm tired from working for a living. The precedent that I will be forced to buy a product I don't want is a start.

It's not $75 after the first year, the third year the penalty tax is more like $750.00 ~ when I pay the fine it will evaporate before Obama can give it away to deadbeats.

Doctors are resigning and retiring in droves because of this, companies that create jobs are laying off workers above the threshold of 50.

I work for myself, I choose not to buy health insurance. Maybe I'll buy it; are you gonna go out and hustle up the extra work I will need to pay for it?
I bet you have health insurance, so you can whine all you want.

The average family spends about $6,000 annually on health care. If someone is getting health care at only $75 per year, who is paying the other $5,925?

The question is, what other thing would you like the government to FORCE you to buy from a private party? Because SCOTUS said, as long as it's a tax, Congress can make you do it.

You've just given the government permission to make you do whatever they want you to do as long as they tax you for it.

Is that really what you intended? Because your side isn't going to be in power forever. It's the devil you don't know that you have to worry about.
