Not a good reason to trash the thread with AJ crap... This is a serious matter, what happened in NOLA was a big deal and very wrong in many ways.

If you can't contribute in a meaningful way then don't. It is a serious question, what will YOU do when they knock on your door. Thats why I started this thread. Because this will most likely happen again somewhere.

Unfortunatly it's a chance you take when you point a gun as you answer the door, part of the patriot act just about anything can happen, it doesn't say if he asked "who's there" or not. Not saying it would have helped but then again it couldn't have made things any worse.

That didn't have a damn thing to do with the Patriot Act--All the experts are really good at jumpimg to conclusions without having a clue what transpired. Ya gotta love the media for stirring the pot & interviewing people that heard the shots, but saw nothing that went on. Personally, I'll wait to hear the facts. He was a choir boy right??? Just wondering.

I have to agree..

Only thing I meant by the patriot act is that it tends to make every cop a bit more jumpy but I'm not putting the blame on them. As it was said there is not much information yet, if you answer your door with a gun drawn I wouldn't expect them to wait & see if he intends to shoot, he could have easily looked out the window to see who's there. I shouldn't have mentioned the patriot act but every cop I know somehow now thinks they have a terror suspect no matter what. These cops were looking for a serious offender so naturally they should be ready.
