Floating Raft

Hey everyone,
I live in Alaska and I recently purchased a raft made by the Floating raft company. The only info I can find on it is the name, Floating 420 E I believe but not sure on the E. It can hold a 35HP motor and is 14' long. Finding anything else is almost impossible and I really need to know how to determine what material it is made of so I can get a patch kit for the inevitable hole that will come. If you can imagine putting Floating 420E raft into a search engine... I get a bazillion pages of useless information about floating rafts, which most do... Anyone heard of this company or know how to determine what it is made of? Any help will be greatly appreciated...

And one of those bazillion hits brought you to a forum on burning coal for home heating. Curious.

Nonetheless, we are a bunch of friendly people that can think outside the box. My suggestion is simple... buy a patch kit & try a small sample. The worst that can happen is it tends to melt the rubber. If you do the test on a spot that is double thickness it won't bother a thing. So... cut a 1 inch by 3 inch patch. Glue one half to the raft & leave the other half as a pull tab. After it's dry tug it sideways & see if it holds. It will be obvious if it doesn't!

I think the coal forum link is to determine the volume and weight capability of the Zodiac......with a 35 hp outboard and enough fuel to get from Point A to B! ........either that, or we are being made fun of because it sure as hell isn't 105 degrees in Anchorage! Who wouldn't think of King Crab and Salmon when he mentions where he is.....


Oops, saw on the news a piece of glacier the size of Manhatten broke off yesterday up north of us......waaaay north.
