In the first place Jpete, I said nothing about it being in the 2nd A., I said that I believed that it would have been a consideration. Being that what was considered an Army at that time they relied heavily on a call up militia, why don't you address the fact that is there as a well regulated militia? Are you implying that only the trained militia should have Gov. issued arms or that every citizen would be more than welcome to come to the defense of their country with whatever arms they had? If you recall even elements of both armies in the civil war were still using their own weapons.
