I've watched this video a dozen times. Ken Block is a mad man that can drive.

Yes he doe but it certainly helps having a car that cost $500K that probably has to be rebuilt every time he gets behind the wheel. I like the start of the one where it says Ford Festiva - 650HP.......... LOL

How does one get permission to close down city streets for the exclusive use of one nut case in a useless car?

Money talks.

Richard, I'm sure he doesn't worry about having to rebuild the car every time he gets out of it. He's probably got a garage full of them, especially since DC shoes as well as Ford probably foot most of the bill.

Hum, that car is 4wd, he must have a way to disengage the front end to do some of that stuff. I would like to know how many tires he went through filming that.

And how many times did he do it? Most every obstacle had many, many skid marks around it.

What was the taller silver transmission lever? Was that four wheel drive in & out?

He has lever in the car that allows him to apply just the rear brakes, basically a glorified parking brake.

I would imagine they filmed it in many sequences so they only had to close down a few streets. Probably on a Sunday morning. If you consider the bridge sequence they probably just stopped traffic for a few minutes....

He drove the course many times. There are other videos from his past playground videos that show out takes where he's slammed into barricades, over corrected, there was even where he hit a guy on a Segway that he was supposed to drive around.

Here's another one of him on Top Gear; the British version and not the crumby US version of the show.

No, he didn't. He just kept going like nothing had happened. I kept thinking, damn that guy is brave.

He must have a coal fired boiler in that car. You can see all the steam comming out of it.

If you slow the speeds down to about 10 mph, it reminds me of driving my Cobalt in the winter

How does one get permission to do that on city streets? Money talks is right!

The Summer Nationals in Worcester has been going on for over 20 years now. Worcester is one of THE most liberal, tree-hugging cities on earth ... but when the ' Nationals come to town, thousands of hot-rods & vintage muscle are allowed to drive around all weekend with open headers :o , and nearly each one does a hot smokey burnout until the tires blow. The rubber is taken out by dump truck at the end of the event!

But NOTHING brings more money to the city of Worcester. Why else would people from around the country flock to a city known for welfare recipients, liberalism, meth, potholed streets, and run-down abandoned 100 year old mills? I mean, really?
