Hi Susan,samiam2sm wrote:I recently purchased a house with a Glenwoood Basse Heater Coal and Wood Stove #8. I need instructions on how to use it. The previous owners did not leave any and our first experience resulted in a large amount of smoke pouring into our home. Please give any input. I have watched the you tube videos and we still have smoke coming out of the very top. Thank you for any help you can give me.

You have one of the best stoves in the World. I can't believe someone left it behind. You should burn coal in the Glenwood. It's efficiency and design features are largely lost on wood. We will be happy to help you in anyway we can. Like others have said, make sure your chimney is clean and the stove inside the base heating tubes are clean. I will be happy to walk you through the start up procedure step by step if you need it. You are extremely fortunate to have one of these stoves.
