Coal bin question

Coal bin question

PostBy: k9 Bara On: Sun Aug 05, 2012 3:41 pm

Hello to all, it's been a while.

I am at the last wall of completing my coal bin. It's 10'(L) x 6'(W) x 5'(H) and I plan on moving the coal from the bin to my boiler barrel by means of a grain auger. My question is do I need to build any type of shroud or anything to take weight off the auger? I plan on using a 3' grain auger from the TS store.
I hope I explained it OK, I am just concerned the auger might bind with all the coal around.

Thank you,

George

On the AA130 moving pea coal, there is a "doghouse" over the auger. Efm, i don't know, auger may be pitched downward also.

Here's the A doghouse without the auger. The auger enters at the high point & stops sticking out the low point about one inch.
