I see in Craigs list an add for "Deep run of mine coal. Call for sizing. 1/2 price. $100" What are they talking about. Isn't run of mine, all different sizes, whatever gets in the truck. Why would they list having sizes. Isn't this a term for Bit. Do they sell Anthracite like that? The add was from the eastern part of state.

I bet it is the same as the guy that posted on this forum.
Coal for Sale
I suspect he is not running it through a breaker, but just screening it right out of the mine. I think that UAE does the same but someone that knows more detail can pipe in.
Only problem with not running through a breaker is that you could get more "black rock" since the coal wasn't run through a floatation process.

Yeah, that's the add I saw. Well whats the deal with this. Has anybody burned some? Glen Lyon, isn't that South eastern Pa.? As far as UAE not having a breaker, I think they do. The owner offered me the one ton bags. They were from the Magnatite that he mixed in his Mensies cone.

Ok, went and did my homework. Glen Lyon is right in the middle of the northern fields. Hazelton, Wilksbare area. Seems like this might be worth checking out. Anybody burn coal from that area?

I burn UAE pea coal. Hauled with my trailer directly from their retail sale yard. Coal does not go through a breaker, just a size grading screen. Compared to the Superior brand I previously burned it's much dustier. Superior has a size grading operation that does have a water coal washing to it. Don't know if UAE does or doesn't water wash the coal. JC, "coalberner" would know, he's friends with the co-owner and has been up "at the mine", at least at the entrance where the coal grading operations are. The mine entrance is up their private road from the scales and the retail sales area. Public not allowed. Large trucks do go up to the mine entrance area for loading.
