Well good morning to all... Hope all works out in the end for yeah freetown. The mrs is a touch ill so me and my princess are on our own today. We bought her a little 12 volt beemer to ride around on so this should keep her happy. Dumbass who owned this house before we bought used panelling in the garage. My inlaws did some work to thier home and had about 15 sheets of 4x8 osb left over, so I helped save 'em the gas of returning it and gave 'em a few bucks. Gotta get some 4 maybe 6 inch pvc piping before I start the replacement. I seen a nice pic of a coal chute using pvc on the coal bin pics topic, so this is my goal for the day. Anywho have a great weekend all.

I started my day with two cups of coffee and some French Toast. THANKS FREDDY!!

The I was off to Sears to pickup a new mower blade since my son finds it funny to run over stones and has somehow managed to bend the crap out of the blade. I was going to work on my daughter's room today, but as it would have it, we've had no power pretty much all day. Damn JCP&L and First Energy. So, I'm on generator power for now.

Well, auction is over. There were a lot of locals bidding & the average was around $500.00 an acre--normal auction price for this area--the average total price at that point came to approx. $240,000.00--Well, they then proceeded to a part of the auction which was only for the whole shootin match--whichever total was higher would get it--some guy flat out bid $740,000.00 WTF All the locals left mumbling about a rip off, etc. I watched this guy walk out to the road & get in his brand new shiney Mercedes wagon--is that what the piece of crap yuppies are driving nowadays??? I caught a Westchester sticker of some sort on it--HMMMM  :( Now I guess we just wait & see what his plans are

There goes the neighborhood Freetown! Time to move,...Hey I hear they have coal in ALASKA! You might have to trade in your horses for huskies though. That would be the hardest part of the move.

Maybe they're coming up that way due to the prices around here:
**Broken Link(s) Removed**
People came to my town after WWII and bought parcels of land, 10, 15, 20+ acres. At that time nobody could believe anybody would move this far out and away from everything.

Then after all those Americans raised their families they sold their land and their farmland and retired to places elsewhere. Pretty much any parcel of land that could be developed and subdivided has been in this town. When they completed Rt 78 they predicted it would be a boon all the way out past Phillipsburg. It actually brought crime out from the urban areas too. They recently forced in low-income housing under The Mt. Laurel Decision. This strains the tax base in town and makes the schools more crowded. I'm just holding in as long as I can stand it; I stay here because of the wage scale. It's not only yuppies, Newark thugs with money have infiltrated this neighborhood; never used to be blasting music at 12 AM before. Guess it's just the way things go.

Sorry to hear the news freetown fred. At this point I would not plan on moving yet but I would start stocking up on boxes. If and when the dozers move in then it will be time to rent the U-Haul. You should have spread rumors of illegal industrial dumping on the property and all the lead and mercury contamination that needs to be cleaned up prior to the sale, maybe that would have suppressed the price a bit.

Best of luck to all the locals.

Wouldn't he first have to get the land rezoned for anything other than agriculture? Could be he just wants to put a McMansion in the middle of it all. Maybe he'll want to buy you out as well, might be something to think about if he has a battery full of lawyers & a pocket full of money it would be hard to beat him.

This is true especially if you live in an economically depressed area. If there are no good jobs near by I doubt it will turn into a development anytime soon.

I was just watching the few seconds of Obama's NH speech that I could stand. "We've come too far to turn back now!!" Made me sick to my stomach.

Unemployment Jan 2008 - 8.3% Unemployment Jan 2012 - 8.3% I guess he thinks standing still is coming far

We'll see I guess but Willard scares me even worse because he's changed his tune on so many things that you just don't know what he's really about. I'm not sure he does! I can think of at least 5 or 10 right off the top of my head and not little ones either. Sad situation to have to choose between lesser evils but it is what it is.

It is what it is, I shouldn't have said something political on the Freddy's Coffeehouse. gotta get back to work Monday and keep my face away from the TV media which just sends me into an anxiety attack. Obama just granted amnesty to another million illegals, with no authorization from congress, what do you think he'll do in a second term. The country will be destroyed. Just what he wants. It must be the election getting close and I would be better off if I put the TV out in the rain.
I gotta get my mind right boss, and talk about lawnmowers and the weather.
