Weapons of Mass Destruction

Weapons of mass destruction are usually classed as nuclear weapons, poison gases, etc.

Add up the casualties from these weapons plus the toll from all the great wars and it is a pretty horrific figure.

It is as nothing however compared to the destruction of the most horrific of all weapons of mass destruction. I refer to the social programs instituted by governments. Soviet Russia over 60 million, China over 70 million lives lost. What has our own governments housing program cost in wrecked lives, and the effects, like the fallout from an atomic weapon will be with us for a long time. Detroit was not hit by a bomb, it just looks like that. NYC had in the 50s and 60s acre after acre of wrecked housing that more resembled wartime Berlin. California with all its advantages of climate and natural resources seems headed on the same path.

Our lawmakers are mostly lawyers, a profession whose major talent is how to make a lie seem plausible. A situation akin to giving farmers training as librarians to help them grow crops. We are ruled almost without exception by totally ignorant uneducated people in the fields that count. As long as that continues the mass destruction will also.

Don't know if it will ever spread but my hometown had two (we called them projects) & both were recently torn down. Naturally it's too late for the town but it's a hope anyway one project was built just for lower income but the older of the two was built to house replacement workers during & after the war, brought most in that for some reason couldn't make the service but those projects were built for more than one reason. It was just maybe the last 4 decades that they really went down hill fast until then they were well kept & the people were friendly till the new element moved in, don't know if it was all drugs or what but it seems like all cities big & small had the same fate.

Somebody better figure out how to overcome the speed of light or maybe space aliens will show up and show us how to do it. The Universe is so big everybody could have their own planet, their own solar system, their own galaxy, their own cluster of galaxies.

Governments are hazardous to your health. LOOK at the history of the world. I don't consider death by war or by a totalitarian government enforcing their political, "legal", religious, ethnic and/or economic ideologies domestically as a natural death. The term "Weapons of Mass Destruction" is a tool of propaganda. The fact is the genie is out of the bottle. Technology can be applied for good or evil purposes. Governments are the most likely to misuse technology and have a mind set that it is somehow OK because They (sociopaths that seek power) are the government. The more legalistic control a government inflicts on it's people the more at risk they are. So after the current events which have transpired since 9-11 do you feel safer?

Knowing what I've learned about people who seek power, I'm not sure it is a wise thing to test them.

"this government is bad, and spending "our" money" thinking is very short sighted. unless you want to re live the wild west, with no law and order, at least laws, and some order, and halt the bringing together of people to under take really huge projects and human advancements that would never be under taken with out the cumulative efforts, read government, you should just re treat to a very remote part of the world, since these thinkers cannot handle being part of the community of humans.

I don't know where you have been but parts of this country are worst than the wild west today, precisely because of the so called enlightened policies. Law and order....you have got to be out of your mind. Don't you see the culture of corruption shared by Washington and Wall Street. Don't you see the seething mass of discontent in the inner cities. As far as their spending our money you got me there. They are spending our children's and grandchildren's money with no end in sight. Our money is basically gone. When they finally spend us into complete bankruptcy then you will long for the relative law and order of the "Wild West". Cumulative efforts of government? The government is legendary for it's wasteful practices running projects. Sadly it seems that war spending is responsible for many technological advances but I wouldn't call it economical would you? How much destruction, death, and ruined lives is justifiable for the technological advances? I'll never understand you. Regarding the community of humans, all I can say is I cannot handle YOUR implied definition of what community is.
