Joseph Lamp, who identified himself as a "former member of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Advisory Commission," is not only anti-hunting, he has appointed himself as a national spokesperson for wounded warriors who hunt. According to Lamb's story, "...teaching wounded veterans to kill innocent whitetail deer with bows and arrows is inhumane and should stop." (Lamp was commenting on a previous article, "Helping Veterans to Recover with Hunting."

I'd be curious to look at lamps military record One of his thoughts/non-ideas is that birth control for deer might put an end to hunting them--seriously!!! google him if you doubt this

if they keep killing all of the doe (female) we wont have to worry bout deer hunting PA. is trying hard to get rid of the deer car insurance co's rasing cain bout all the auto deer kills,repair costs if they would just slow down a little during the rut season that would help. also the season is much to long ( oct. till jan. ) us country people depend on a deer or two for food hell you cant eat horns.give the deer a chance dont shoot doe a lot of the time the doe is pregnant with twins well dummy there are three that we dont have . PA. used to be a good deer hunting state now it sucks..the inline mussel loader season really hurts the deer are still a little dumb yet, and these muzzel loaders are very accurate at a good distance. a month of archrey is also to long the deer are really dumb during early arch season..

2 things--don't confuse them yuppy in-line muzzle loaders w/ real muzzle loaders--secondly, true archers do NOT use tree stands, they track & know where their deer will be come the season--the weapon is not the problem as it never is--it's the money hungry politicians giving out the permits--specificly doe permits--they were good for a couple yrs to thin out your Pa herds--I hunted Potter County for years w/ friends--that were HUNTERS, not trophy seekers--but my main question would be--what does any of that have to do w/ disabled Vets hunting with crossbows/ bows & arrows?

fred i agree with u would love to see the vets get some hunting if there was something to hunt.. i am a vet and after hunting man in the nam i now find it hard to kill a deer unless i am hungry..sorry if i ruffled u fred.. just complaining sounding off about the sorry state of the deer herd i am surronded by 10,000 acres of pa gameland i call them non game lands..

Same here BB, been there & done that as well, never was much for hunting & fishing but was always for the sportsman, it just seems more & more that there aren't too many sportsmen left, true ones would police their own ranks. I walk out in the gamelands & find dead deer with a few cuts of meat taken off & the rest rots never even gutted them, they cut way back on rangers so they know what they can get away with. The scary thing is after the first shot you hear 3 or 4 more, if you can't hit it clean the first time you know they ain't even looking where the rest are going if they miss. I'd be more than happy to allow any disabled vets set up in my yard if they would want.

Too bad you guys can't hunt in NJ. They are well fed here. Took these pics today. I'm working for a lady that feeds them, has names for them; wouldn't be surprised if she brings them in to watch TV. Too much. The guy next door has extensive gardens and landscaping and has to douse their plants all the time with deer repellant.

I gotta keep the customer, the only thing I told her is watch out for Lyme disease. I didn't tell her that humans have used deer as a food source for thousands of years, that my whole family in NYS are hunters; or that my nephew likes pickled deer hearts

I grew up without a father so nobody ever taught me to hunt. Sux.
