I am looking at a used keystoker koker stove, it looks like its in pretty good shape. My house is only 1500 sq ft and the stove output is 160000 btu. My furnace is 80000 BTU and heats the house fine. I don't have any experience with a stoker stove. Will this stove burn low and produce much less btu's? If so is it inefficient burning it this way?

The furnace acts just like a regular furnace it adj with a wall thermostat
When there is a demand for heat it will turn the stroker on
then when there is no demand it goes into idle
just imagine it works like an oil furnace
At idle there's not much heat coming out of it

The Koker will do just fine taking it easy & if you get a really bitter cold spell it will be up for the task. If it's a good price & in good condition I'd do it my house is a bit larger than yours plus the basement & I have a 80,000btu propane furnace that I used to tie into the ductwork. You can heat a smaller area with a big furnace but not a larger area with a small IMO.
