You simply can't have it both ways. If it was Bush's fault when he didn't appear to care fast enough, then how can it also be Romney's fault when he does appear to care fast enough?

And where does that leave Obama, who needed to get some more golfing in and wasn't going to go to the disaster scene at all until after he found out that Romney was going? Wouldn't that prove Obama to be the least caring of them all?

All of this wreaks of stinking Democratic politics.

And to bring this back on topic, how can the Ryan economic plan be of any possible worth when it doesn't actually begin to cut deep enough to show honest results until sometime around 2024? That makes it clearly nothing more than smoke and mirrors, as by 2024 it will surely be only a distant memory. By then the deficit will be factors greater than is currently being projected, as the Ryan Plan requires that the economy will grow at an average of 4% to 5% annually, and that is purely unsustainable over so many years.

You get a foot in the door and work from there. Do you think the massive cuts that Ron Paul proposed could actually happen? Even the most modest cut will cause all kinds of screaming. Bit by bit is how politics works. That's how you got the situation with Obama.

If a Romney Ryan plan of tax reform, business support as well as energy production has modest success, then more is much easier to accomplish. A steady push by Libertarians is much more likely to succeed in part, rather than "I am taking the ball and going home" attitude.

Romney will not cut spending. Trillion dollar deficits will continue as far as the eye can see until we become the Wiemar Republic.

What magical talisman do you possess which protects you from math?

Do you believe we can print money indefinitely? Something that Helicopter Ben seems to believe is just fine as he is on the verge of QEIII.

Please, if you have some knowledge of how we can do the same thing that has been done over and over through history yet avoid a similar result, I'm sure we'd all like to hear it.

I guess my problem would be that I don't have the degree of negativism/ gloom & doom nor the total lack of faith in beleiving that there are good guys that hold this Country sacred compared to the over educated/pure science/numbers experts that discover & then rediscover & so on & so on, accomplishing nothing but confusion & separation in the masses/SHEEPLE that think they can do no wrong--Adams rib, tommy the tuna, allen the ape-- the reason they keep researching everything, is because they don't beleive in themselves. I happen to beleive that Romney/Ryan can do a better job then BO & whatz his name--STAND UP--OH, OK--WE'LL stand up for you

On what basis do you hold that opinion?

What is the guy who voted for TARP, the PATRIOT Act, NDAA, increasing the debt limit, and all the other things that got us here going to do to fix the problem they created?

Nope, I guess I have to concede. Romney & Ryan were obviously responsible for all that. Sometimes I feel so inept. :clap:

And in the present, we live with the poor choices made in the past.

I'm not sure why you take this so personally.

The blame is spread about equally. The current POTUS and Congress have done nothing to move in the right direction.

And I see no reason to believe two people , one of them directly involved in the situation, will change anything.

I don't do personal

I am not going to condemn someone for something I have disagreed with in the past--I think that is where the positive faith I've spoken of comes into play. If I'm angry about the past & projecting negatively about the future all I'm doing is pissin all over today

I'm not angry about anything. I'm a realist. It allows me to objectively evaluate my position and try to decide which is the best course of action.

What good is "hoping" things get better if/when they don't?

I can smile and step in front of a bus hoping the driver will stop in time but it won't do me much good if he doesn't.

You know a lot of your projections are based on assumptions also. Money printing can slow or stop well before a Wiemar situation. In fact a bit of printing in step with expansion makes for a more uniform value of the dollar.

That sounds too much like reality being real, and things being as they appear. Hardly anyone believes that nonsense anymore. Most believe that reality is what we make it. However, few of them are willing to step in front of a moving bus to prove that reality is not real. Reality being real, let's get real here!

Your picture is very appropriate, as apparently the Federal Reserve has the omniscience required to know just how much money to print. Let's get real. No one (and that includes governments and private corporations and think tanks, etc...) can know the size of the economy.
