I am putting a deposit down in the morning actually. I am getting an Oakland #6 as I was having a hard time finding a good Glen for a good price. I am under the impression that the oakland is EXACTLY the same as the Glenwood. Does that sound right to you guys?

Don't know, I'd have to see some pix. Oakland made some base burners which are an excellent design. Measure the firepot. A number 6 has a 16" pot.

Hi EZ, not shure for the Oakland but according to a lot of old stoves catalogs I saw, many different stove makers were making about exactly the same stoves, in some old stoves books you can seee exactly the same gases path, same body, grates...sometime only just a little item differ or the name... So if the stove is in fair condition go on!
My Sunnyside is not a very well known brand but is a so good stove/insert, my Golden Bride is not a well known brand but is a super stove, having one of the best double shaking system...and like many other ones is a copy of an other stove.
