How many cold ones did that take? You will not regret your hard work.
Not too many, my dad used to work in the masonry trade, and my uncle and cousin currently do masonry work for a living. I only laid two brick, I spend most of the time mixing mortar and lugging it down the stairs.
It's amazing how easy skilled tradesmen make the job look, until you try it yourself!
Between all of us, I think we went through about a dozen brewskis
So on another note, I need to figure out what kind of stove pipe I'm going to use. The wooden beam that supports the 1st floor is 11" diagonally from the crock. I hear these DS's have fairly low stack temps, but I think to be safe, I should rule out single wall pipe. I had some old Duravent on the dutchwest last heating season, but I will need to get a different setup for the DS1500 circulator.
I was happy with the performance of the Duravent, but I wasn't sure if there was a better (and possibly cheaper) solution.
